Before I go into detail, please do not think I don't love my husband, or that I am speaking badly behind his back on some dumb blog.
I wanted to marry a cowboy, straigh up redneck, backwoods, real muscle, horse ridin', gun slingin', hunk of a man!
Ya know what I got : }
I got a nerdy,intelligent, handsome, silly, unpredictable, gaming, awkwardly social, loner, skinny, white kid, who wore pants the whole 6 years he lived in Hawaii, army man, who loves his cat, and He is perfect.
Now, I don't say this as in "Oh my gosh, my husband is the best man in the world. He bought me flowers for no reason, got me a brand new iphone and then took me to dinner all on a Tuesday night."
(that is soo sweet, but I hate those facebook status')
I say he is perfect as in, he was the perfect person for my personality. I thank GOD for chosing my husband for me because if I would have married the first guy, I would probably be divorced in 72 days like our friend Kim....haha!
I am definetially a selfish person with a lot of wants (I am working on that) but I am learning quickly that not getting what you want can really be a blessing.
God gave me a man who is patient, because I have the patience of a four year old. calm, because I am a "freaker-outer". hilarious, because I love to laugh and he does it every day. a quiet leader, because I am a controller, but his quiet instructions can help me to follow him.
and vice versa. I believe I was given to my husband because I can take a joke, because he is a jokester and a smart-alic, and even when I am really angry, I will just crack up from him. I am independant, my husband can't stand clingy girls who want everything handed to them. I want to be a mother, we both love kids, they are very important to us.
So to sum it all up- You might not get what you expect, but what you get may be more then you expected.
our relationship was definitally a Jesus thing......thanks Dude, you really got things planned out up there. See you on the flipside.
Myrtle (no my name is not Myrtle, that was my great grandmothers name, so it goes with the URL....read below if you are confused.)
Peace out.
